pH Neutralization

Air Products’ Halia® CO2 neutralization system can be utilized for wastewater pH control and provides an alternative to the use of mineral acids for reducing alkaline water pH. Carbon dioxide (CO2) is less prone to overdosing than sulfuric and other mineral acids and is safer to handle.

Carbon Dioxide

Carbon dioxide is a colorless, odorless, non-flammable and slightly acidic gas. It is used in water and wastewater treatment applications for pH control as well as remineralization of water treated by reverse osmosis. For pH control, the carbon dioxide is a mineral acid substitute which is less susceptible to over-dosing and safer to handle. Carbon dioxide can also be supplied as a cryogenic liquid with a boiling point of -70°F (-57°C).

Halia® pH neutralization system

The Halia CO2 neutralization system provides automated pH neutralization of alkaline wastewater or CO2 addition for remineralization of drinking water or industrial process water that has been treated by reverse osmosis. The system consists of CO2 contacting equipment and process controls.  This offering is not available in all regions; please check with your local office.
